How to send free international SMS with Facebook

Sending an International SMS can be a costly affair,because no free sms sites offer free International sms. I searched extensively and found out that even those sites which offered free international sms, would just show up an error message on trying to send sms to an international phone number.So the simplest way seems to be with Facebook,which provides us with free sms updates, which can be customized to update us with sms each time someone messages you on Facebook.

Best advertising programs for bloggers

When I started my first blog, I didn’t know that there were many advertising programs which could help me gain a reasonable income. Now a days, when someone starts a new blog, what they first search for is advertising programs. I tried out many programs some were success while some others were utter failures.Given below is a list of online advertising programs which I have tried.
Google Adsense

I tried Google Adsense program after I got an idea about it from problogger. Since I had no or meagre webdesigning skill, I found it difficult to place the ads, but as time went by it became an easy task. The problem with Google Adsense was that they paid only after $100 accumulated in my account. I had to wait some time for my first payment, I even doubted whether I would get it. But I got the first payment and it got me going. I would recommend Google Adsense to any of my readers who are looking forward to start a blog.
Infolinks

Infolinks is a text based advertising program, which shows links on specific text. The payment per click is satisfactory and above average.But the disadvantage is that text linked advertisements have lesser payment, so you will have to have a huge audience for a satisfactory campaign.
Text Link Ads

As the name suggests Text link ads is also a text based advertising program, the payment is satisfactory and comparable to Infolinks, but the approval system is it tough.
Adbrite

Adbrite is contextual advertising program similar to Google Adsense, but the payment per click is very low. I have tried Adbrite, but the results were not satisfactory, so I avoided it altogether.

There are many other advertising programs available for web publishers, some like Yahoo Ads are known to give good payment to publishers, be sure to try them out too.

How to prevent being cheated on social networks

In olden days thieves used to rob us at night when all the family members were asleep. In this modern era Cyber thieves or Cheaters rob us during the day time, with our permission.Most of us are ignorant, or just don’t bother about it.

Most of the important safety features provided by the social networking sites revolve around a friendship request. People believe strangers are danger, but thieves are common people and mingle among us. They are not strangers,even though you believe that your identity is safe, it may not be!

In the western world, photo privacy may not be an issue, but in a conservative country like India,people take much care to protect their images.Once someone can lay hand on your image, it will be a difficult task to set the image right, especially for women.
How cyber thieves gain access?

Whenever a new person wants to be your friend,a new friendship request is sent by that person to you. Once you accept that friend request, he/she gets access to most of your online activities on that social networking site, including albums, scraps, walls and so on.

STEPS IN CHEATING

I.When a thief or someone you hate want access to your profile, they just create a fake ID.

A.If you are a woman, they will create ID of a woman and vice versa in case you are a man, to avoid suspiction.

B.Add some of your friends to his/her friends list to create an air of familiarity

C.Wait for some days and create a lot of scraps.

D. Create an album with simple images.

E.Write some testimonials from other fake ID’s

F. Send a friendship request to you.

Most of the time, people accept friendship request from a stranger who is trusted by everyone else and falls in the trap just like everyone else.

Some people avoid falling in this trap, but the cyber thief doesn’t back off, he comes with renewed power and energy, this time he/she changes his/her strategy.

II. Create a duplicate ID of one of your friends.

A.Most of the time we don’t care in adding someone a second time, eventhough we already have him/her in our friends list.

B.”Add me,My other ID just got deleted” or “My other ID got hacked, this is my new ID” or “Ignore messages from my old ID, this is my new one”

III. Create a new ID of one of your OLD friends who is not a member of the social networking site and who is not in regular touch with you.

IV.Create a false login page and steal your password.

This is the most dangerous of all. Sometime you may get emails from the networking sites like orkut or facebook with links to their homepages. Some thieves use this method to steal your password. They send emails to your email account with a fake ID similar to the orkut/facebook mailing lists. When you click on the links you get redirected to a false homepage which looks exactly similar.

Most of the people who are unaware of this trap, just log in and surrender their password to the thief.

V. Sending greeting cards to all in your contacts list.

This is a new type of fraud, choosing festive seasons as seasons for fraud. I got this email, with a nice Christmas card. I clicked on the card and was taken to a website with a single Christmas card. I liked the card so much that I wanted to send it to my friends and relatives. I searched for the option to send christmas card and clicked on the link.

I was redirected to another page which requested me to enter my email ID and password to fetch my contacts. I sensed the fraud and resisted the temptation to enter my account details.Though I liked the Christmas card, I valued my email account and password even more.

One password is linked to ten other passwords. When you lose your mail password, you lose your Bank ,paypal,facebook and a lot of other sensitive information in the mail accounts.And most of the time, passwords are same across different sites we visit.
HOW to avoid being cheated

1.Don’t add strangers

2. Call and inquire this friend

3.Lookout for duplicate ID’s

4.Avoid keeping sensitive data in your online profile.This is the easiestt step which will save you a lot of headache!

5. Don’t click on suspicious links.

Look on the addressbar and confirm the homepage of your favorite websites.

6.Don’t give away passwords to send greeting cards.

Though I have covered only a few of the frauds, hope this enlightens you to learn more.

How to prevent firefox from crashing again

I have been using Firefox from the time I began using internet. I love the way firefox works ,through addons and extensions. Though firefox can be a great utility for browsers and download freaks alike,it has some problems too,which can be fixed.

Firefox’s Problems

* The main problem I have encountered with firefox is that when we add bookmarks day after day, firefox slows down and when bookmarks become unbearable to firefox it hangs and crashes.
* I am an addon lover, every time I fins a new useful addon I add it to my firefox. Again the problem occur, firefox hangs and crashes. When the firefox is restarted, all the tabs and windows which were open at the time firefox crashed, tries to open again resulting in a further crash. Crash by crash becomes an avalanche, pulling all your valuable bookmarks and addons along with it. The only option which remains is uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it again.

Reasons for Firefox crash

* Incompatible or Buggy Extensions
* Buggy Plugins
* Upgrading an Old 2.x Profile to 3.0
* Compatibility Problems with XP
* Video Card Drivers
* Tablet PC Incompatibility

How can we fix these problems?

1.Run in Safe Mode

If Firefox no longer crashes while running in Safe Mode, then you know you have an issue with one of the following:

* Plugins
* Extensions
* Settings
* Profile

2.Create a New Profile (if Safe Mode Fixes Your Issue)

3.Disable Unnecessary Plugins

4.Disable Unnecessary Extensions

5.Clear Out the Caches

6.XP Users: Run Firefox in Compatibility Mode

7.Do NOT Use the Tablet PC Input Panel (or OnScreen Keyboard)

If none of these works, Backup bookmarks and saved passwords with MozBackup utility and completely uninstall firefox.Reinstall firefox.

How to Increase webtraffic to your blog

Increase webtraffic tips

1. Post regularly

Posting regularly to the blog is the most important tip anyone can give. Posting frequency is the one and the most important factor in bringing you repeat visitors.I used to post regularly in my college days, but when I got entangled in the studies, my readership began to dwindle. But now I have started posting again, and my readership is steadily increasing.

2.Content is King as always

Know what your reader is looking for. My users are mostly looking for proxy and bypassing censorship tips and some technical hacks which help to reduce the workload. I post what I find out from other websites and blogs. Since these tips have helped me a lot, I am sure they will help a lot of my friends too. So I am always happy to provide great information I have procured from the sites I surf.

3.Comment on other related blogs

Commenting on other blogs is a great way to increase readers. I used to comment in a mechanical way just to increase my readership. Some of these sites I visited regularly, some others just for the sake of commenting. Whichever way, commenting is always good for you. Be a good friend and traffic will flow to you.

4.Post in social networking sites

Four social networking sites have worked best for me,they are Orkut, Stumble upon, Facebook and Twitter. Though I have tried Digg, since people in my part of the world are not regular diggers, I lost intrest in digging.Orkut has helped me greatly in establishing a successful web career.Try these and you will be happy having done so.

5.Create mailing list and keep contact with readers

Though I have not tried this , I a sure creating a mailing list would be a great idea. Because when people forget us, a great way to make them remember our blog is through a mail in their inbox. Be sure not to spam them.

Though I have a lot more tips to discuss, I am tired typing in. Check back again to find new tips and leave a comment below if you loved reading this post.

Picnik Photo editor,does photo editing well

Since I was not an active publisher in puzzlehacker for such a long time,much of my repeat visitors where gone. But still I get so much search traffic. I discovered a lot of sites while I was in this hibernation period. I lost so much data and visitors. I desperately needed some screen capture softwares to do my work at ease.

I had a great screen capture software some months back, which I lost as I did some formatting. So I decided to google and find out. What I got was Picnik photo editor. Since opportunities lie everywhere, I decided to give Picnik a try.

Picnik is an online photo editor.It uses flash, so it took a lot of time to load. But once the site was loaded, everything was working great.I could do what ever I liked, with a simple click. Picnik is a great tool for any web publisher, who works on free tools and likes to do a neat job.

With picnik you can edit photos in flikr,facebook,picasa,myspace,photobucket etc.Saving the edited photos and sharing them will complete your work

Mind creates matter

                                Absurd!!! Most of you may think,the same way I did, when I first read an article on this subject. How does mind creates matter? “Your future is the result of your thought process”. Energy is made up of quanta, energy is present everywhere.These quanta creates matter. Ie vibrations of thought process can create matter. eg:You dream of owning a great SUV in the near future and starts working towards the realisation of this dream.When you started dreaming, your mind and the environment started building your dream car!
